Your personal nutrition blueprint
Your vitamin D is always low, even after a summer in the sun. Your B12 keeps dropping. You’re not sure whether dairy, gluten or coffee actually suit you, and every article says something different.
Some nutrient gaps aren’t about what you eat. They come down to how you absorb, convert and use nutrients, and your genes play a big part in that. The same goes for how you respond to foods like gluten, lactose and caffeine.
The Lifecode Gx Nutrient Core test is a simple at-home cheek swab. It gives us a broad picture of your nutrient needs, food responses, blood sugar, inflammation and body clock, so we can personalise the basics properly.

Is the Nutrient Core panel right for you?
This is a great all-round panel, and may be especially useful if you recognise several of these:
- Ongoing low vitamin D, B12, folate or other nutrients despite eating well or supplementing
- Unsure whether gluten, dairy or caffeine suits you
- Bloating or a gut that never feels quite right
- Blood sugar dips, cravings or a big appetite
- Raised blood pressure or a family history of it
- Frequent infections or ongoing inflammation
- Poor sleep or a body clock that feels out of sync
- Wanting a general health baseline before going deeper
I often use this panel to answer the questions clients have been going round in circles on for years. Knowing whether you’re genetically likely to lose lactase, or to need more vitamin D, takes a lot of guesswork out of daily choices.

What the Lifecode Gx Nutrient Core test looks at
The report covers the everyday areas where genes and diet meet.
| Area | Genes looked at | Why it matters for you |
|---|---|---|
| Food response | HLA-DQA1, HLA-DQB1, LCT | Your genetic risk for coeliac disease and lactose intolerance |
| Caffeine | CYP1A2, ADORA2A | How fast you clear caffeine and how it affects your sleep and anxiety |
| Gut microbiome | FUT2 | How well you feed beneficial gut bacteria, linked to B12 levels |
| Vitamins | BCO1, COL1A1, FUT2, GC, MTHFR, SLC23A1, TCN2, VDR, VKORC1 | How you absorb and use vitamins A, folate, B12, C, D and K |
| Blood pressure | ACE, AGT | Your sensitivity to salt |
| Detoxification | GSTM1 | Your glutathione capacity |
| Metabolism and appetite | FADS1/2, FTO, LEPR, PGC1A, TCF7L2 | Omega-3 conversion, blood sugar and appetite |
| Inflammation | IFNG, TNF | How strongly you respond to infection and inflammation |
| Circadian rhythm | CLOCK, PER1 | Your natural body clock and sleep timing |
Each gene comes with practical food and nutrient recommendations, so you know which foods to lean into and which supplements are worth it for you.
How it works
- Book a strategy call so we can check this is the right test for you and choose your panels.
- Your kit arrives at home. It’s a simple cheek swab, with no blood and no needles.
- Post it back to the Lifecode Gx lab.
- I analyse your report alongside your symptoms, history and any recent blood tests.
- We meet online to go through your results, and you leave with a clear plan and a recording of the session.
Nutrient Core works well on its own as a broad baseline, or alongside DNA Methylation for a deeper look at B vitamins and energy.
Pricing depends on which panels you choose and how your programme is set up, so we’ll decide together on your strategy call.

Nutrient Core DNA test FAQs
Can this test tell me if I have coeliac disease?
No. It shows whether you carry the genes that make coeliac disease possible. Not carrying them makes it very unlikely, which is useful to know. Diagnosis still needs a blood test and assessment through your doctor.
Is this the same as a food intolerance test?
No. IgG food tests measure immune responses that change over time, and a long list of positives usually points to a leaky gut rather than true intolerances. This test looks at fixed genetic factors, such as whether you are likely to keep producing lactase as an adult.
Why is my vitamin D low even though I supplement?
Genes like GC and VDR affect how vitamin D is carried around your body and how well your cells respond to it. Some people simply need more, or need it alongside other nutrients like vitamin K and magnesium.
How long do results take?
Results take 3 to 4 weeks from when the lab receives your sample. Once your report is in, we book your results consultation.
Can I do the test from outside the UK?
Yes. I work with clients internationally and all consultations are online. Get in touch and I’ll confirm kit delivery to your country.
Do I need to stop medication or supplements before the test?
No. Your DNA doesn’t change, so medication, diet and supplements won’t affect the result.
Does my DNA decide my health?
No. Your genes show where you’re more vulnerable. Diet, gut health, stress, sleep and targeted nutrients decide how those genes actually behave, which is exactly what we work on together.
