How I can help

Get your energy and immunity back after a virus that never really left

You had a virus, maybe glandular fever years ago or something more recent, and you’ve never quite bounced back. You’re tired in a way sleep doesn’t fix, you catch everything going, and some days your body just aches.

Some viruses don’t fully leave. Often called stealth infections, viruses like Epstein-Barr (EBV), CMV and other herpes viruses can stay dormant in the body and reactivate when your immune system is under strain, keeping you stuck in a cycle of flare-ups and fatigue. Because they’re low-grade, they’re easily missed on standard tests.

My job is to find out what’s keeping your immune system from getting on top of it, and give your body what it needs to recover.

Does this sound familiar?

  • Fatigue that started after a viral illness and never fully lifted
  • Recurring sore throats, swollen glands or flu-like days
  • Catching every cold going, and taking weeks to recover
  • Brain fog, poor concentration or feeling “wired but tired”
  • Aching muscles or joints with no clear cause
  • Cold sores, shingles or other viral flare-ups when you’re stressed
  • Previous blood tests showing past or reactivated EBV, CMV or other viruses

These symptoms often overlap with chronic fatigue, post-viral and vaccine injury symptoms and mould illness, so I always look at the whole picture.

What's often behind it

  • An overloaded immune system. Stress, poor sleep, other infections or toxin exposure can leave your immune system too stretched to keep viruses in check.
  • Nutrient gaps. Low vitamin D, zinc, iron, selenium or B vitamins weaken your antiviral defences.
  • Gut health. Much of your immune system lives in your gut, so an imbalanced microbiome affects how well you fight infection.
  • Low cellular energy. Viruses can disrupt how your cells make energy, which is part of why fatigue lingers.
  • Other hidden stressors. Mould exposure, other infections or hormone imbalances can all keep the cycle going.

How I work with you

Recovery from chronic viral and stealth infections is about strengthening your whole system, not just targeting the virus.

  1. Investigate. When your symptoms started, your history of infections, stress, sleep, diet and any past test results.
  2. Test where it helps. Often functional blood analysis, including viral markers where relevant, and sometimes a comprehensive stool test.
  3. Plan. Nutrition and targeted supplements to support your immune system, gut and cellular energy, paced to how you feel.
  4. Support. We adjust as your energy returns, and plan ahead for the times your immune system is under pressure.

Chronic viral and stealth infection FAQs

What are stealth infections?

Stealth infections are low-grade, persistent infections that can fly under the radar of standard tests. They include reactivated viruses like EBV and CMV, as well as some bacterial infections. They can quietly drain your energy and keep your immune system on high alert, without obvious signs of being unwell.

Can you test for viral reactivation?

Yes. Blood tests can show past infection and signs of reactivation for viruses such as EBV and CMV. I interpret these alongside your symptoms and other markers, rather than on their own.

Do you treat the virus itself?

No. I don’t diagnose or treat infections. My focus is supporting your immune system, nutrient status, gut health and energy so your body is better able to keep viruses under control, alongside any care from your doctor.

How long does recovery take?

It varies. Many clients notice their energy improving within the first few months, but long-standing cases often need a steady, paced approach rather than a quick fix.

When should I see a doctor?

Please see your doctor if you have a high or persistent fever, unexplained weight loss, night sweats, a rash, severe headache, breathlessness or chest pain, so these can be checked first.

Do you work with clients outside the UK?

Yes. All consultations are online and I work with clients around the world. Most of the tests I use can be arranged internationally.
