Trust Your Gut workshop for SayaClub, Canggu in Bali
I taught a workshop on gut health called “Trust Your Gut” at Saya Club in Canggu, Bali and had a fantastic time. Gut health is one of my favourite topics and there are so many fundamental digestive health habits that we, modern individuals, are totally ignoring and therefore causing digestive issues!
“All disease starts in the gut” – Hippocrates ~400 BC
No, actually it starts in the mouth. In this workshop, we had a few giggles when I asked the group how many times they chewed each bite of food before swallowing. Needless to say most people don’t chew more than 10 times. If we don’t chew properly, then how can the rest of the organs in the digestive system do their job?
In this workshop at Saya Club, we went took a deep dive into, not just gut health, but digestive health as a whole – from the gut-brain connection, to digestive enzyme production, microbiome balance and SIBO (Small Intestinal Bacterial (or Fungal) Overgrowth). We discussed common problems like bloating, excessive flatulence, indigestion, heart burn, constipation and diarrhoea, and how these problems actually manifest.. and also how simple eating behaviours can help you alleviate your gut health problems.
I also talked about Bali belly, given that we’re on the beautiful island of Bali, many of us western folk tend to fall victim to the parasites and bacteria that cause gastroenteritis or food poisoning. I gave tips and tricks to help people to avoid Bali Belly and what to do if you do get it. (Nobody from the west is safe from Bali Belly I’m afraid!)
So before you head straight to iHerb and purchase all sorts of random supplements, because a friend said this supplement was great, or an influencer said that supplement “cured” their IBS, watch my webinar and see if you can avoid all that before spending anything.
